Emailing Etiquette
Many emails that you send will be to friends and family. As such you may get into some habits that might hurt your chances of getting that job interview. Your email might be treated as importantly as your resume after all; when they are reading your email they haven’t even seen your resume yet.

Here are some things to remember when you are writing your email:

Grammar and spelling, this is vital. Watch out for Internet slang words, commas, apostrophes and "smilies". Don't be lazy about writing your email, it is a reflection of you and you should take it seriously.

Often people set up a "signature" that is sent with every email. Be careful that this is appropriate. It is safer to disable it and to use a standard sign off for your email.

Templates should be avoided. They can add colors and images to your emails that take away from your professionalism.

If the ad asks for the resume is a certain format be sure that you provide that format. If they can't open your resume there is a slim chance you will be getting a call.
